First thing first "What is the God particle?"
The "God particle" is the nickname of a subatomic particle called the Higgs boson.Different properties of matter are due to the different subatomic particles, and one of the important matter properties is mass. We know as what what have read in our school time that protons and neutrons have mass but photons do not. So the particles which gives mass to the matter is named as The Higgs boson, or “God particle”.
There was a huge buzz this Monday in the physics world that the 'God particle' has been detected at Europe's premier physics lab.

The Nobel Prize winning physicist Leon Lederman wrote a book "The God Particle" some 15 years ago.
As he put it in his book:
“This boson is so central to the state of physics today, so crucial to our final understanding of the structure of matter, yet so elusive, that I have given it a nickname: the God Particle. Why God Particle? Two reasons. One, the publisher wouldn’t let us call it the God dam Particle, though that might be a more appropriate title, given its villainous nature and the expense it is causing. And two, there is a connection, of sorts, to another book, a much older one…Whatsoever it is, it's endless fun to read these articles and if really the hunt for the God particle is resolved then it help in understanding the most basic nature of the universe and it's ways!
